Every vehicle is different. Each vehicle requires different repairs. It does depend on the overall shape of the vehicle. Customers determine how far they want to take the vehicle in the restoration process. All these are issues that determine the cost in restoring your classic.
Depending on part availability and the severity of the repair. All vehicles require multiple man hours. Craftsmanship does take time. Most of our projects range from 8 month to 3 years.
That question is asked often. The customer always determines the value of the vehicle they are restoring. Sentimental reasons play a big part in restoring a vehicle. Each vehicle does have a certain value by market standards. However the customer still determines if it is worth doing the project.
Each member has over 30 years of automobile experience. All members have numerous years in painting, welding, sheet metal fabrication, electrical, mechanical, and auto body repair. Some of our members started in the business in 1968.
Some of the small items we do out source. Recharging air condition, alignments, wheels, and tires. Fabrication of machined parts or rebuilding OEM equipment. Everything else is done in-house.
To estimate the cost of a restoration with so many unforeseen tasks is almost impossible. Some restoration facilities do give out estimates, we do not. Most of our larger projects are charged Time & Material until completion. The customer always determines how far financially they can go.
Our current Body & Paint labor rate is $55.00 per hour. Mechanical is at $65.00.
We schedule an appointment to sit down and review all tasks that need to be performed. We create a canvas on how the vehicle should be built step by step. Once that is done and agreed upon, we start your file. A restoration agreement is presented and signed, down payment is rendered and work begins. The disassemble process is performed by bagging and tagging all parts and notes are made on parts that need to be replaced. All labor and tasks are written and logged every week along with material and parts. Invoicing is performed each week on the information that was logged until we exhaust funds rendered and so on. Your file will contain everything on this build. This file can be viewed at anytime during this process.
